Protection goes on a blog tour

Protection blog tourProtection has been released, and with it being my first self-published title, I’m a lot more nervous this time around than when I’ve got books releasing from publishers. Publishers thought my book was good enough to contract, so I’ve got that vilification. When self-publishing no one accepted my book. Only I deemed it good enough, and I’m so nervous I was wrong. Still, I am proud of my book, and this week it’s going on tour.

I know I’m not good at marketing, so in my attempt to try and get better, I paid Pride Promotions to set up my blog tour for me. You can buy different packages there, to whatever need you’ve got and you can choose how many stops and such you want. It’s quite neat. Since Protection is only a novella, I didn’t do many stops. If I’d done this for a novel, I definitely would’ve gone bigger. But there’s only so much you can write about about a novella.

We’ll see if marketing helps, because if it does, I need to work out a marketing plan. Should’ve done that ages ago. But I just set up my business plan, but skipped the marketing part because I have no clue. Time to start researching!

So anyway, here are the stops for the tour:

27-Jul BFD Book Blog
28-Jul Love Bytes
29-Jul Mikky’s World of Books
29-Jul Inked Rainbow Reads
30-Jul Molly Lolly
31-Jul Bayou Book Junkie

Adrian isn’t looking for a boyfriend. He’s focused on school and social situations make him anxious. When his mother encourages him to make a friend and be more outgoing, he takes a chance at a party. It doesn’t live up to expectations. His classmates ignore him and the alcohol tastes bad. Worse? Oliver finds him moping in the bathroom.

Oliver, the class clown and know-it-all, might grate Adrian’s last nerve, but he’s the only one paying Adrian any attention. Not only does Oliver flirt him into a bedroom, he charms Adrian’s pants off. Adrian loses his virginity to a man he doesn’t even like and in the morning his anxiety spirals into full panic. They didn’t use protection and popular-with-everyone Oliver insists they need to get tested.

Adrian is sure this isn’t the kind of friendship his mother meant and he tries to distance himself. But it turns out Oliver’s brash personality is just a mask to hide his own insecurities and family embarrassments. Adrian can relate. Oliver may be a know-it-all, yet Adrian can’t abandon him. Besides, they still need their test results. But how can the popular kid be friends with him when Adrian doesn’t want to come out of his shell?

What am I working on?

M02MoreThanWordsMy WIP page is still not up and running again, so I thought I’d do a blog post about what exactly it is I’m working on right now. It might be good, it might not be. I mean, I think it’s good, obviously, or I wouldn’t bother, but if it’s a good idea is a whole other question.

You see, I’m writing a short novella called No Right Words: Part 1. It is also More Than Anything #2.1, which means it’s related to More Than Words. No Right Words: Part 1 is from Andreas’ POV, and it follows the first part of More Than Words. I think Andreas’ POV is a good addition, because the entire 94K of More Than Words is from Alex’ POV. Will anyone else think it’s a good idea to release this book? I don’t know.

As you see, it’s Part 1. This doesn’t mean the next parts will also follow More Than Words, because they won’t. Part 2 will take part after the end of More Than Words, so that one will have all new material. There will also (probably, likely, maybe) be a part 3. I’ll have to see about that, because I have to write book #3 before I can even think about starting part 2, not to mention part 3.

Book 3, More Than Enough, is high up on my list though. I want to get to it as soon as possible. Hopefully by the end of the year. I do want to get some shorter works out of the way before I devote all my time to another long novel, though. More Than Enough isn’t (planned to, anyway) be as long as More Than Words, it might even end up a short novel, but it’s still going to be a novel. Unless I’m hit with an up where I can’t stop writing (like when writing More Than Anything, More Than Words, and the four Souls books), it’s going to take me some time.

Fear not, though, it shall happen. It shall happen ASAP. I’m more than ready to tackle these two main characters that have, until now, only been minor ones. You met one in MTA, you meet them both in MTW. Can anyone guess who they are?
