To do NaNoWriMo or not?

Participant-2014-Twitter-ProfileIt’s that time of the year again. NaNoWriMo. 50K words in a month. I won last year – by writing the crazy amount of 111K. I finished More Than Anything, and wrote the entire More Than Words (except I deleted about 40K and rewrote it all back in January and February). It was mad. Thinking back, I might’ve been in a manic state then. I didn’t do anything other than write.

This year… I’m not. I hardly wrote anything in October and I’ve got two books to edit (More Than Words, a novel, and White Nights, a novella). Still, I want to do this. Maybe I finally start writing again. I feel lost not having written much for a month.

So NaNo is tempting. Oh so tempting. I don’t know what I’d write though. I’ve got two ideas, but they’re not solid. And I’m still trying to work out the kinks of the Souls WIP, which is likely now going to be split into two different books again, like was originally planned.

I also have exams this month. An exam paper to write, a written exam at the end of the month, an oral exam to read for, and another oral exam at the beginning of next month, so I have to read for that one too. Busy, busy, busy.

Maybe I’ll try to shoot for 25K or something. Or 30K, which is normally my monthly goal, but which I did not reach in October. We’ll see. Need to finish this editing first.
