Week 39: 2013

[title size=”2″]On writing[/title]

I finally finished Maybe Tomorrow, the sequel to Yesterday’s Tears. As YT hasn’t come out yet, no one probably cares about the sequel, but yeah, it’s all done! I’m going to let it lie for a while before I go back to read through and do some revising. It didn’t turn out at all like I had planned at first, but I’m pretty happy with the end result, regardless.

I also finished revising Black Sun, the sixth and last previously written book in Arctic Love. I’m letting this lie for a bit as well, before I go through it one last time. Last week I submitted Northern Skies, the second book, and this week I got the contract in my inbox. I read through Midnight Sun, the third, one last time as well, so it’s all ready to be submitted now. I will probably submit it tomorrow. I had plans to do it today, but it never happened. I’m not quite sure what I’ve been doing all day, to be honest.

New ideas are flitting through my head and I’m not quite sure what I want to write next. I’ve just been writing notes for more Their Circumstances books though, so I’ll probably keep on writing that series as I also read through and submit the written Arctic Love and Seasonal Love books.

I haven’t been reading much this week either. I’ve read Las Palabras de Amor by K-lee Klein, which was really good and Piper Vaughn’s Last First Kiss. Ive also started on Amy Lane’s Puppy, Car and Snow. I’m really liking it so far, though I didn’t know it was part of a series. Oh well. Still enjoying what I’ve read, and I’m not feeling lost, as all is explained.

I decided to put a ban on myself on the buying of books, but I haven’t stuck to it. I’ve bought books. I have, however, sorted out my TBR shelf in iBooks. Now they’re sorted by genre. As I’m on a major contemporary roll (I only read contemporary lately), it felt wrong counting the other genres in the total sum. Plus, it’s simpler to find stuff now.

So yeah. Now I’m putting a ban on myself. No more buying books before I’ve read at least 10-15 of the books on my contemporary TBR shelf. We’ll see if I can actually manage this. There are some older books that I have read before that I would really like to reread as well. They will not count. Only books from the TBR shelves will count in the 10-15 limit, not books previously read. I’m hard on myself, but I must be. I need to read some of the books I have and stop buying new ones all the time. I don’t have money for that. I’m back to being a student now. No more work and lots of money.
