Week 40: 2013

[title size=”2″]On writing[/title]

What have I been doing on the writing front this week? I’m not quite sure, to be honest. I started in, for real, on that old series I’ve been mentioning a couple of times. I actually made an outline for it, which is so not like me. Usually I just fly by the seat of my pants. I have it planned for a 100K words! It’s crazy. I am a person who struggles writing a 30K novella, and now I’m planning this epic piece. There’s a lot of story to cover though, so I don’t doubt I’ll reach it. Trouble is, I might grow tired off it and opt not to finish. That’s a pretty good bet with me. The novel is named More Than Anything, which is a perfectly fitting title for it.

I also got the release date for Measured Doses. It’ll be out on February 26. I’m so excited for my threesome to hit the shelves! I also got the contract for Midnight Sun, Arctic Love #3 in the mail today, so that book will be released soon too.  I now have five books on the coming soon page, and it’s all just really exciting. I cannot wait for you all to meet all of my characters, they’re all lovely, I tell you.

This week I haven’t read much, but what I have read have been novels Maybe that’s why, huh? I started in on Ariel Tachna’s Inherit the Sky. It was the first book in the Lang Downs series and I absolutely loved it. I couldn’t put the book down. I loved Caine and Macklin, and how their relationship slowly grew. I loved Caine’s stutter. I promptly bought the other three books in the series and stared in on Chasing the Stars the moment I finish the first one. Chasing the Stars was a bit of a letdown for me. It was nicely written, and it was so good to see more of Caine and Macklin, but I just wasn’t as enthralled by Chris and Jesse as I was Caine and Macklin.

I started another book this morning when I finished Chase the Stars. This was From Out In the Cold by L.A. Witt. Haven’t gotten far, only a couple of chapters in, but I’m really liking it so far. I’ll get back to Lang Downs later, after I finish some other TBR books I really want to get to. I am curious about the next two books, especially number four, which is the book that originally caught my eye in the series. As of now, I’m enjoying From Out In the Cold.
