Week 42: 2013

[title size=”2″]On writing[/title]

Writing hasn’t gone great, in my opinion. I’ve been travelling at the beginning of the week and back in my hometown for the latter part of it, thus I have not been able to concentrate fully. However, I have been writing on More Than Anything, and my Excel spreadsheet tells me I’ve written 14K this week, which all-in-all isn’t so bad. Last week I only wrote 11K, but then I was on holiday and definitely not able to concentrate. This week has been better, in terms of wordcount.

The story has now reached 42K and it’s moving into the last part of the first part. It’s supposed to be another 10K according to my plans before it moves into the second arc of the story, which is one I’m both excited about and dreading, in terms of content. It’s going to be hard to write. But I need to get these character through the second arc and over to the third and last one, so it’ll happen. It must happen!

I also planned the rest of the story longhand this week, as well as outline what should happen in the next book. It needs to be outlined, because some things overlap with this novel. Not a lot, but some things happening in the second arc. I also have plans to write a short m/f companion piece to More Than Anything, which will explain certain things about two minor characters. I’m actually looking forward to that too, and I don’t even like writing m/f!

Haven’t been doing much reading this week, to tell the truth. I started in on Something Like Summer last week, but haven’t continued this week. I don’t know why, because it’s a good story. I’m just not feeling it at the moment, I want to read something else. So I decided to reread A to Z by Marie Sexton, which I started a couple of days ago.
